The best news that a TRUCKER ever heard! .........My personal testimony
As a 20 year old soldier in Germany I had gotten my life in a terrible condition. I was facing some very severe punishment for some things I had done. These proceedings in the Army are called “Court Marshal”.
While I did not know what I was looking for, I certainly wanted something better for my life. I began going to a Bible preaching Church that was reaching the military with the gospel. I began to hear things that I had never heard before, and this was the best news that I have ever heard and the best news that I could ever share with you.
I saw my condition before God
While I knew that I had done many things that were wrong, I saw that God called these things sin, and that sin is what stops us from going to heaven when we die.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
I saw what my eternal state would be if I was to die in the condition that I was in.
Rev. 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Though some people think their condition before God is better than others, the Bible still says. Romans 3:10 There is none righteous, no, not one:
I saw the cure for my condition
While I will admit that the bad news was not what I wanted to hear, the good news was what I longed for, and desire that you see as well.
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
How precious it was to me when I saw that though I had committed the crimes of sin, God loved me enough to allow Jesus to die my death and pay my penalty in full. God is satisfied with what Jesus did on the cross 2000 years ago. We must become satisfied with it as well, and accept that which God accepts.
I accepted the cure that God offered
I had no religious background at all so I had an easy time simply accepting what the Bible says without any religious bias.
Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
The Bible simply says that our trusting faith that comes from the heart is that which gives us the righteous standing before God which allows us to God to Heaven when we die.
I knew the condition that I was in, and the future results of that sinful condition. The Bible explains what took place when I saw how much God loved me… Romans 2:4 ..the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? At that moment I repented of my sins and, by faith, called upon the Lord Jesus Christ to be my Savior.
I knew nothing of this wonderful life-changing event until someone explained it to me, which is the reason I share this most wonderful truth with you today.
